Vengeful- I choose this word for William because when Harold stole his throne he had no mercy for him and he ended up killing him.
Persistent- After his throne was taken he didn't mope around and give up, he took action and attacked. Lucky- William is very lucky because, a the same time that he was attacking, a group of vikings thought that they could take over, so William had the perfect chance to attack while Harold was away dealing with he vikings. Smart- While William was walking though the valley where Harold thought he could ambush them, his men surrounded Harold's and Harold was over powered. Respected- William's men followed him throughout the whole journey of taking back his kingdom, this meant that William must have been a good leader and a well respected leader to. Trustworthy- I think William must have been trustworthy because why else would the king before him choose him to be the next king, plus William followed the previous king's orders by taking back his land from the false king Harold. |
I believe that Leonidas and William are very similar because both fought a battle that would've ended either, both won the battle, and both were outnumbered but still ended up winning. But they are also very different because William was attacking while Leonidas was defending his land, plus they were from very different time periods, and Leonidas was way more outnumbered than William.
Abusive- King John abused his power in many ways such as taking away power from nobles.
Disrespectful- King John did not respect his nobles, so they didn't respect him back. Selfish- He raised taxes for no reason, and he stole power from the nobles making them very angry. Bad Leader- He lost many battles, and lost a lot of land due to his careless leadership. Weak- He was forced to sign a document that took away a lot of rights from him. Clueless- He didn't even realize that he was losing land, all that he wanted was to be a king, and he was bad at it. |
The Magna Carta- signed: 1215
The Magna Carta was a very important part of the Middle Ages, it made sure that the King would not abuse his power, or take away power from his Nobles, this document was made all because of King John, who abused his power to the max. The Magna Carta influenced the bill of rights because we thought it would be a good idea to make sure our president doesn't abuse his power like King John did.
